First Visit to PPOC - 30th August 2017
The first encounter in PPOC was to observe the space as well as the diasble people. Day was spent with having a chit chat with them, observing the classroom they used, and the activities they did during their own time.
It was amazing on how even they are not good with certain stuffs, they are so detailed in the things that they were doing ,not to mention that they have a very high concentration
12th September 2017
Today was the first group meetup for our group to discuss about what kind of proposals we are going to propose and
as a group we sat down for brainstorming the possibilities as well as the objective of us doing that proposals.
13th September 2017
With the proposals we have, we presented those proposals to the whole class as well as lecturers to have feedback for our ideas and also to estimate our budget so that we won't exceed those amount.
We finally agreed on these three proposal in which we think can enhance their learning abilities.
Proposal 1
the first proposal is something to do with colors and numbers. we figured that during our visit to PPOC for the first time,
they learned color by coloring as well as numbers, but we are trying to propose something that is more fun which they can get their hands on to play with it. this proposal is very suitable as not only arranging the rings following the numbers and color, it also teach them how to count by the dots given.
But for us its not enough, we proposed to have them learning objects as well in this proposal
by counting the object's amount. so we proposed to have them printed onto stickers and
stick it at the back of the wooden blocks.
Proposal 2
the second proposal is the jigsaw puzzle. as puzzle is general tool of learning in which there are no age limits to it, in addition everyone find puzzle is very exciting as there are a lot of pattern possibilities to explore and it will enhance their imaginations. but puzzle itself is not boring, but we decided to make it more educationally fun, with the same aim for all our proposals, for them to learn as well as having fun at the same time. in conclusion, we decided to have two parts of puzzle which seperated to animals, and letter. so they could learn typeof animals by matching it with the letter puzzle to create the animal's name. they could interact with each other as well because during the session, anybody could just add the puzzle piece and continue so.
Proposal 3
the third proposal will be more to the educational approach as this proposal will help them gaining their knowledge on their language as well as learning new things like body parts, essentials, etc. we called it scrabble because we still trying to arrange the word, but we modified it to become more variant by providing name of fruits, vegetables, body part as well as essentials for them to study about everyday's neccesity.
19th - 20th September 2017
after receiving the proceed sign, we decided to get on the execution process. firstly, with the budget given, we went to look for the materials to move on with the proposals we had. we went to toy shop to look for the things that we need but certain shops are just out of our budget, therefore we kept searching which shop is more suitable for us.
and then we found out that in Chow Kit area there are a lot of toy wholesale shop in which there are more toy varieties to choose with cheaper price. as the area is quite big, we decided to go as a group.
22nd September 2017
first group discussion on how to execute the proposal. on this day, we were seperating our jobs to have the work done more efficiently. after discussing, we decided on who doing what job and as for myself, I was assigned to make the second proposal in which with the jigsaw puzzle we bought, I have to trace it on Photoshop to get the perfect size to put the pictures of the animals and letter. in addition, I was also doing the first set of the first proposal, in which I have to propose the objects and put it on photoshop to have it printed on stickers. as for the pictures, all of us worked together and also during the physical thing like gluing, cutting in which all of us took parts in.
on this day we also found out that the puzzles that we bought werent enough, so we decided to count properly on how many letters we need according to the animal names we agreed on.
23rd September 2017
done with the digital files, we went to print the stickers together with laminating the cards for the scrabble proposal
25th September 2017
again, as a group we were trying to finish the execution process like to glue the puzzle picture to the actual puzzle, cutting the edges, preparing the scrabble tools, and etc. we also found out that the back of the puzzle actually in wrong shape, so we have to reprint and restick the puzzle.
5th - 6th October 2017
final touch up for the proposal like adding the body parts and essentials to the scrabble proposal as well as arranging everything into one box.

11th October 2017
today was the day we went to PPOC to present our work to the students there. it was quite an experience, because at first we did not prepare the presentation in Bahasa, because we did not expect that. so instead of continuing our presentation, we decided to just demonstrate how it works to them in Bahasa. the other things we figured that, we made a mistake by preparing all the object names in english. for example, a banana for the scrabble proposal, instead of arranging the banana word, they went an arrange pisang. so we figured that next time while proposing something we have to be more careful and more aware with the surroundings.
next thing was during the demonstration of the third proposal which is the logarithm, the PPOC students were all so excited about it but we only had 2 sets and it was not enough so we feel a bit aplogetic to them because we did not provide enough things for them to get their hands on.
nevertheless, it was an amazing experience for us to interact with them and see how enthusiastic and happy they are made me feel proud and feels like I have achieved something as well as unlocking another spot in my heart for these disable people and hopefully there area more things for me to do for them in the future.
